Welcome to The Portrait Gallery's website. Here you will find examples of the work of the artist Rob Chilcott. (Cardiff 1948-)

The Portrait Gallery is easily found on the High Street of Blakesley, Northampton, but please phone for a rendezvous as we will be working in one of our studios, or with clients.

The paintings fall into two main categories - Portraits and Themes.

Portraits

Portraits are mostly commissions and prices range from £300 to £5,000 for traditional high quality oil on canvas. A true likeness is guaranteed. The time scale is usually between two and six months. We also do photographic sessions which normally can be slotted in within two weeks at £2-300.

Themes

Variations on a Theme, these tend to be come in batches of a dozen or more, a bit like an album. They often start from issues and observations, go through a narrative and develop into a set of abstract paintings. We will update with sizes and prices as soon as possible.

We have only recently started to catalogue the paintings. Most of the work from the 20th Century was sold unrecorded, so we would be pleased to hear from anyone who could fill in a gap or two. Much of this work will probably need cleaning, varnishing and signing.

Cleaning and repair

Most old oil paintings will need a clean to look their best. We repair and clean oil paintings at a reasonable rate. An appointment can be made for a free quotation.
